About Me

I am originally from Midlothian, Virginia and an alumnus of Virginia Tech with a degree in Forestry & Natural Resource Conservation. Upon graduating from VT, the mountains were calling, and I moved to Summit County, Colorado. While in Breckenridge, CO, I worked with a local construction company and utilized my forestry degree to combat the Pine Beetle epidemic in the Western US. Eventually, I moved back East and became an ISA Certified Arborist, and focused on treating Eastern Hemlocks against the Hemlock Wooly Adelgid in Western North Carolina.

Then, wanting to be closer to our family, my wife, Ashleigh, and I moved to Charlottesville in 2014. As I’ve always had a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Ashleigh and I opened Moe’s Original BBQ on Ivy Road in 2015. We owned and operated this successful BBQ restaurant until proudly selling it in 2022. During that time, I built out two commercial buildings, and maintained all systems which broadened my knowledge for building construction and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. I have been inspecting homes since 2021, and am proudly the owner and operator of Ironwood Home Inspections.
